Winning Your Wellness

Mastering the Five Life-Rejuvenating Elements

For treating a disease, it is recommended that you go to a doctor. You may kill a pathogen or repair a body part, but that is most likely all you are going to get. You can even go to a healer who may do something to help you clear an imbalance. But this is still only a temporary measure. To treat yourself to real wellness, you will need to raise the bar of your lifestyle. I have summarized the essentials of living well into five elements.  The information is taken from my twenty years of compiling research of a great number self empowerment methods and natural medicine practitioners.

This is an introductory article that lightly touches on many subjects. Given the adage, “We are as strong as our weakest link, I invite you to strengthen those elements of your health that need it most by clicking on the related article or resource link. However, because of this article’s length, I recommend that you first print it up so you can easily read it through to its entirety, and then click on the links later.

If you do find this article to be loaded with inspiration as it is meant to be, then I encourage you to re-read it from time to time, as I continue refining it. Since I had a miraculous recovery from a life threatening motorcycle accident when I was seventeen years old, I have always been fascinated to learn about the latest methods of self-healing and empowerment. There is always more to learn, and this is a good attitude to have if you want to keep improving your life.

“In the beginners mind there are many possibilities. But in the expert’s mind there are few.”

—Shunryu Suzuki

Changing the course of your life away from disease toward health begins with a shift in one’s consciousness. The spiritual Law of Attraction illustrates this shift beautifully. The law in a nutshell goes: Like attracts like. If you are focused on what is wrong with you, you are attracting to yourself more of that. If you are focused on living well, this is what you will attract. This is the act of taking 100 percent responsibility for your thoughts, your words, your feelings, and your actions. If you have yet to see the movie called The Secret, for your inspiration’s sake, do so. And be sure to watch the end part about a man who survived a plane crash. (Click on Miracle Man to read more about him.)

After my motorcycle accident, I was told by the doctors that I would be permanently disabled, and would certainly never run again—if I was lucky enough to walk. Yet I healed unusually fast and went on to become a long distance runner. I believe the number one reason that my recovery was nothing short of a miracle is because the idea that I could be crippled for life never even entered my mind. When the doctors mentioned it, I didn’t believe a word. All I could think, talk, feel, and do was be healthy, and of course this is what happened—regardless of the experts’ opinions.

If you have a Health Challenge...

If you are seriously ill or obese, you may suddenly want to change everything all at once, which may be too much to ask of your body. First, find a way to calm yourself down, as impatient or fear-based action may not give you the results that you would like. I recommend that you begin with deep intention (prayer), calling forth a total health transformation, and asking your Higher Power (as you understand it) to take away your worries and guide your actions, step by step, one day at a time. Your Higher Power is the final health authority that you can trust. Once you have set you intention to be healthy and fit, trust what comes to you with seemingly little effort. It will feel right in your gut. You will be intuitively guided to the appropriate information and health professionals. It is important that you know your many options. A rule of thumb is that it is usually the voice of “fear” that says you have only one option. The voice of Truth usually says your options are many. You are always free to choose. Especially in this information age, just go to Google, and you will find that the choices are vast indeed. Remember most health professionals are good at what they do, and yet they usually perceive your situation through the lens of their trained expertise and  limited knowledge of your entire set of circumstances. Only your Higher Power can see the whole picture. You will hear  its guidance if you practice faith and trust in your path.

Remember, wellness is an evolving lifestyle that takes time to learn—as we generally take “two steps forward and one step back.” It usually works best to make changes slowly and deliberately while being compassionate with yourself with your resistance. Whether you are struggling or enjoying your progress while nourishing yourself with the following Five Elements, please e-mail me to let me know how it’s going. If you are having success, your story can be printed so others can also be inspired.

Going Beyond Health Maintenance

My experience is that there is hardly such a thing as health maintenance. When I have an attitude of just maintaining my current health, I’ll find out later that my health was actually declining. In other words, I am either moving deliberately forward with my ever improving health goals, or I am unconsciously backsliding. There are always higher levels of vitality and happiness. Without setting goals, one has no direction. Winning your wellness is not unlike winning anything else. Those who set goals and remain committed to excellence as they practice and persevere—win. After reading this article, I invite you to make your next health and fitness goals and set up a winning support structure.

Building Your Support Structure

Lack of support is the number one reason why most people don’t get healthier and happier. In fact, many of us have friends, family, and co-workers who have poor health habits. They unconsciously support us with remaining stuck in our unhealthy patterns.

And then there are those of us who do not connect enough with anyone. We are too isolated. This is a serious issue in our society that leads to depression, addiction, crime, illness, and death. Getting supported by people with similar goals and supporting them in return is a secret to success and fulfillment—because it feels great to have the added benefit of truly empowering friendships, and because and they help keep us focused and inspired. We are in this life transformation together, and when someone falls we help that person back on their feet. We all need to feel connected, for this is the reality of the universe. If you would like this kind of support please check out our Mastermind Groups. The larger your support structure, the greater are your chances for complete success. I am also available as a Wellness Coach to assist your personal health goals.

I     The Spiritual Element (Ether)

The spiritual is the first and most vital element of all because you can do everything known for your health, but if your Soul really doesn’t want to be here, it will withdraw from the body (allowing an illness to invade or accident to happen) and eventually drop the body altogether. You have to want to be here, and this is how:

The spiritual element is your ability to be filled with love, your feeling connection with all creation. A core aspect of this element is simplicity. If you are putting most of your energy into acquiring something non-spiritual, you are missing what truly matters. It is the smiles, the sound of birds, the “thank you’s,” the “I love you’s,” the sunsets, the holding hands, the shared meals, the humor, and quiet and peaceful moments, the inspiration—these are the things that really matter.

To have them, we have to surrender our strife to the simplicity of the present moment. Only in the present moment, can we receive the gifts of our healing, empowerment, and fulfillment. Every day we must learn to give ourselves time to be. Our being comes first, not our doing. This is where meditation and prayer come in. We need time to collect ourselves. Enlightened beings like the Dalai Lama and Mother Theresa had a daily morning practice in which they spent hours with themselves before going out and doing business with the world. I recommend that you start with committing to spending one quality hour with yourself in the morning before doing anything. If one hour is completely out of the question, then start with 30 minutes. Make this time sacred for yourself. You may or may not do the same ritual in this timeframe each day. What matters is that you simply commit to being present with yourself. It may be meditating, reading inspiring words, writing in your journal, praying, talking positively to yourself, choosing an angel card, practicing yoga, exercising, or walking—as long as you are not caught in any kind of striving. It is about allowing your being to unfold, the witnessing of your feelings and enjoyment of your ideas. Everyday it is important to get in touch with your own inner Truth, the truth that addresses what you are presently going through—the Truth that sets you free.  This way you can begin living more from the inside-out rather than only reacting to circumstances. Because you have developed a stronger relationship with your Core, you can now respond to life’s demands with calmness of mind and insight, and thus you are guided to your highest good.

A morning spiritual practice gets you more acquainted with your purpose and inner gifts, so you can be ready to share them when the opportunities arise. Your most important gift is simply having some contentment in the present moment. It is your appreciation of being alive, and the beauty that surrounds you. It is your smile because you took the time to drink in all that you have to be grateful for. Having a morning spiritual practice is not unlike growing flowers and food. You also need tending, patience, and faith so that you will blossom, and the fruit of your gifts will be enjoyed and valued by the world.

Lastly, it is an excellent practice to end your day by saying what you were grateful for that day to your partner or family. Say what you are grateful about yourself, your loved ones, and your relationship to them. If you are single, write it in a gratitude journal. This one single practice works miracles, drawing to yourself more abundance. According to spiritual law, you first have to be the abundance you want to see.

II     The Air Element (Giving and Receiving)

We can not live longer than 10 minutes without breathing. This shows us how important an energy source oxygen is. Yet many, if not most of us, have poor breathing habits. Seventy percent of the body’s toxins come out of us through our exhale, but if we are not breathing well these toxins must either find a way out of us in other ways like through skin rashes or an irritated bowel, or they get stored throughout the body as mucus and adipose tissue (fat). Additionally, our bowel becomes constipated if we are not breathing down into our belly, as well as our chest. Many of us unconsciously learned “the breath of fear;” we breathe shallowly in the chest. This way of breathing keeps us in a fearful, “fight or flight” state of mind. While breathing in this way we lack energy and thus are drawn to artificial uppers like sugar, caffeine, or nicotine.

To learn how to have more energy, brightness of mind, and lose weight by changing your breathing patterns, read the article The Miracle of Conscious Breathing. This breathing course is life changing for people who are suffering a health challenge as well as for athletes who want to greatly improve their performance. In fact, many of the greatest runners, bikers, and triathletes in the world learned this way of breathing, and it became their secret weapon that allowed them to break records. It can be your secret weapon for shifting stress into a way of reclaiming your power at anytime. It is true— changing the way you breathe changes the way you think. This continues to be my experience since I learned it over 20 years ago.

Remember this one thing, Otto Warberg received the Nobel Prize for proving that cancer and other pathogenic viruses and bacteria cannot live in a high oxygen environment. It is only a matter of time before the world realizes that he found the cure for cancer long ago. To become a better breather, read this article. It makes retraining your breathing an easy step-by-step learning process that you can’t fail. You will learn how the inhale and exhale have an opposite effect on your nervous and circulatory systems and thus change your mental states and increase your physical strength and stamina by simply controlling your breathing. You will also learn TRUE aerobics so that you’ll always have a surplus of energy while exercising, and minimum soreness afterwards. Click The Miracle of Conscious Breathing.

Breathing is about exchanging our essence. When we are fully breathing, we are fully participating. We are giving and receiving fully. We are living from our hearts instead of from our heads. Our breath stokes the flame of our spirit into action. When we are fully breathing, our work becomes our loving made tangible.

Your life works when you are fully activated by full breathing. If you have not been getting aerobic exercise, you will start to notice this shift by practicing at least twenty minutes of repetitive movement with deep full breathing twice a week. You will want to move this up to thirty and forty minutes three to four times a week to feel the full benefits. Remember not to over exert your muscles, so you won’t feel the aches and pains of lactic acid build-up. Focus more on the breath than on the physical exertion so your blood stream becomes super oxygenated and you feel super energized. This way you are saving oxygen for your brain, the largest user of oxygen of all organs. On your off days, do something lighter like taking a walk—if your job renders you sedentary. Like animals, we need to be active as well as still everyday.

III     The Fire Element (Passion and Purpose)

We get the mentally stimulating effect of the fire element primarily from sunlight. It is vital that one gets enough sunlight every day. Many people who do not get enough sunshine have problems with depression. At least twenty minutes of direct sunshine or an hour of cloud filtered light can make all the difference. Unless you are driving or out in the bright sun for hours, it is best to not wear sunglasses. In moderation, the sun is more good for you than harmful. A wonderful practice is to stare at the last ten minutes of a sunset. Your brain needs sunlight in order to function correctly. Brain researchers tell us that our eyes are an extension of our brain tissue. By allowing bright light into our eyes, the pituitary gland, the master gland that controls the hormone output of all the other glands and thus virtually all of the body’s processes is activated. Without sunlight all our biological processes, including our neurological activity slows down. To some degree in the wintertime this may not be a bad thing, as we may feel the need to go within and hibernate. But if you are feeling depressed, you may need more sunshine. If that is not an option, then make sure that you spend most of your time in bright, full spectrum lighting. Regular florescent bulbs can be replaced with full spectrum bulbs. If they cost more, you are worth it! If it is a shared space, you will be doing others a favor too.

The Fire Element Represents Passion and Purpose.

Nothing improves one’s health better than having a passionate purpose, a meaningful cause. When a person is on-fire with purpose, one of the many health benefits is that their metabolic rate is high; they burn calories fast and easily lose weight or stay trim because their energy level is high.

Often, the biggest obstacle to getting well is one’s obsession about one’s disease. This pattern evaporates when one asks oneself the million dollar question:“What do I really want?” Like forgetting to go outside to enjoy the sunshine, many of us get so caught up in doing things that lack deeper meaning that we easily forget what we really want. Ask yourself these questions: What do I really want today, this week, month, year, and life? What is my passionate purpose? Staying in these questions is medicine in itself. Write it on your bathroom mirror and refrigerator door. Don’t try to crunch a final answer with your mind to make you feel better. Have the courage to stay in the tension and aliveness of the unknown by remaining in the question. This way your whole life can become the answer.

There are many more methods for being supported with finding and moving forward with your passion. If you need help with finding your bliss and even profiting from it, please call me for a 30-minute complementary Life Coaching Session.

IV     The Water Element (Balancing Emotions and Body Chemistry)

Most people in our society are out of balance emotionally and chemically. Each greatly affect the other. Let’s first touch on the emotional issue.

There are two kinds of people who do not feel their emotions: Mentally ill people and dead people. One of the keys to happiness is the ability to feel one’s emotions.  Laughing and crying are signs of aliveness. To not grieve a loss can take you to your own grave. Even anger can shift one out of apathy. To feel is to be human, and by following our feelings they naturally progress to higher states. By ignoring or repressing our feelings, they tend to drop to lower states.

We can think of our emotions as coming from a sub-personality known as our inner child. This is the little girl or boy in us who has the need to feel safe, loved, and to have fun. When we feel unhappy, instead of it being caused by outer circumstances, it can almost always be traced back to neglecting our own inner child’s need to be heard, understood, and responded to in loving and fun ways.

A wonderful thing to do each day is to have a dialogue with your inner child. To be a good parent to your inner child, be willing to listen to how your inner child feels, what he or she needs to feel safe, secure, and loved, and how he/she likes to play. Then you must learn to be a good parent by following through with your agreements that you made with your inner child. Daily fun needs to be scheduled into your appointment book.  Do inner child dialogue every day, and you will increase your emotional health monumentally. One easy way to do it is writing it out on paper, using your left hand to express your inner child’s feelings and desires, and your right hand to communicate your inner loving and responsible parent. This can be done in ten minutes, and what a world of difference it can make. To learn more about this healing activity, read Margaret Paul’s Healing Your Aloneness.

A common objection that arises is, “But what if our inner-adult doesn’t feel loving?” Why it is so hard for many of us to be loving towards ourselves? Why is it hard to schedule quality play time into our calendars, or get massaged, or be compassionate towards our weaknesses? It is because we all have another sub-personality called the inner-critic wrecking havoc in our minds. The inner critic is in constant judgment of ourselves and others, and thus tends to sabotage many life opportunities. This is the part of us that does not trust believing in the good things because of what happened to us before. It is the voice that tells us that we are not good enough in some way or another. When we believe in this negative voice, we eventually become depressed. I believe this is the root cause of all depression. It is our own negative judgment out of control. I feel proud to say that I have learned excellent methods for thoroughly clearing these gremlins from your mind.  Just click on my e-book Healing the Inner Critic to learn more.

What is Your Body pH?

We have addressed emotional balance. Now let’s discuss chemical pH balance. According to Dr. Robert Young, author of The pH Miracle, modern society takes better care of their swimming pool’s chemistry than their own body chemistry. Purchase some pH test strips at your local drugstore and test your saliva (click to learn how), and you will most likely discover that your body is acidic. Another test will determine that your body is also depleted of minerals to some degree—along with the vast majority of our modern society. This Alkaline Mineral Reserve Test is a revealing measure of general health.  The pH of any solution can be balanced (7 on the pH scale), acid (1–6), or alkaline (8–14.) According to a great deal of research that Dr. Young outlines, over 80 percent of our modern society is too acidic. We will discuss the cause of this acidity in a minute.   The common chemical reaction that acids cause is oxidation. Oxidation is the loss of electrons (energy) of an atom or molecule. It breaks down molecular structure. It is the rust (corrosion) of a metal, or the black on an exposed banana. Oxidation happens in the stomach—as powerful acids break down the molecular structure of food. Any kind of burning is oxidation, as it takes the energy from a molecular structure to release heat.  Free radicals are extreme oxidizing agents; they are found where there is disease. Whenever you see a fire, you are seeing electron deficient free radical oxygen atoms quickly oxidizing carbon molecules. While acids break down the structure of the body via oxidation, alkaline substances cause reduction reactions whereby minerals are collected and stored. Acidity also slows down electrical activity of the nervous system, making us feel tired. Alkalinity increases electrical conductivity of the neurons, improving our energy level and brightness of mind. Wherever there is trouble in the body, there is usually acid, whether it be lactic acid from strained muscle tissue or uric acid from a dirty bowel, or carbonic acid caused by shallow breathing. Alkalinity is an important sign of health. Most alkaline substances also have a high reduction potential, making them anti-oxidants that neutralize free-radicals. This is how anti-oxidants aid the healing of disease.

Our society is too acidic because we live an acidic lifestyle. Thus we have bodies that are slowly burning up. Minerals, the building blocks of our bodies, are corroding away because we are drinking acidic drinks and eating acidic foods.

However, scientific studies indicate that even our negative thinking causes our body chemistry to become acidic. Studies also indicate that deep breathing has an alkalizing affect, but straining the muscles releases lactic acid. To sum it up, to live a shorter life do the following: Think negatively, breath shallowly, over-strain your muscles, eat acidic foods (to be studied later), and drink acidic drinks. This is what most people are doing.  Oh yes, then there is smoking and drinking alcohol, or taking any kind of drug—all of which are extremely acidic.

To feel more well now, and stay well for a longer life, we need to neutralize the negative influences of our environment that tend to acidify our chemistry and oxidize our tissues by ingesting only those things that are alkalizing.

It begins with our thinking. When we focus mainly on what is “wrong,” we form energetic relationship with that thing, and we are giving up more electrons than we gain, we are slowly oxidizing, and thus we feel depleted. We may eventually feel angry, as we are literally burning up. This is what acid does. When we focus on what we have to be grateful for, we receive the good energy around us, we get more electrons, we literally feel more energy, and our structure is enhanced, and continuing in this vein—we become a healing presence.

How we breathe either acidifies or alkalizes our bodies. To learn the alkalizing breath, read the article The Miracle of Conscious Breathing.

My hypothesis is that getting moderate amounts of sunshine is also alkalizing as we absorb all those extra photons that transform themselves into electrons and energy.

Since our body is about 70 percent water, our brain 90 percent, a powerful way that we can affect our body pH is by changing the fluids we drink. Water is important. We can’t survive longer than a week without it. One would think that our society would be more conscious as to the importance of the quality of our water. Sodas and coffee are highly acidic. Even carbonation to make it sparkly acidifies it with carbonic acid, the same acid that the body exhales as carbon dioxide.

Mountains of evidence indicate that the leading causes of aging are dehydration, acidity, and lack of oxygen at the cellular level.  All of these factors can be improved by changing the amount and kind of water you drink. For most people in our modern society, the percentage of water per total body mass declines dramatically with age. This statistic alone indicates that not drinking enough pure water is a major cause of aging and death.

How much water should we drink?  First of all, it is generally not a good idea to use thirst alone as a guide for when to drink. By the time one becomes thirsty, it is possible to already be slightly dehydrated. We not only need to drink enough water to replace what we lose in urine and perspiration, but enough to help rid almost every cell of the body of its waste. If we drink more, we will urinate more, and this greater cleansing of waste and exchange of nutrients is good. It is very hard to over drink, especially if it is the right kind of water, but it is easy to under drink. It seems that the brain is affected first; I notice I lack clarity when I am not drinking enough fluids.

Why are we not thirsty when we really need to drink? A main reason is that we really are thirsty, but we tend to ignore our bodily needs while we are caught up in “more important matters.” Often, we are more in our heads than in our bodies. But by ignoring our need to drink good water throughout the day, the organ that pays for it the most—our brain—is the one at the highest point, which is 90 percent water. The other organs that are greatly affected are the kidneys, whose function is to regulate blood pH and other factors.

To ward off dehydration and make sure your body has the fluids it needs, make water your beverage of choice. Consider the following basic drinking guidelines that can be adjusted according to body weight, temperature, and other factors;

  • Drink a large 16-oz. glass of water upon arising in the morning just before each meal, between each meal, and before bed. This works out to 6 large glasses or  ¾ gallon or a little less than 3 liters a day.
  • If you are healing a health issue, drink about double this amount, about 11 glasses or 5 liters—preferably Miracle Water.
  • Drinking too much liquid during the meal hinders digestion by diluting the enzymes in the food and stomach.
  • Hydrate before, during and after exercise.
  • If you must drink alcohol (which dehydrates and acidifies the body), drink water before and afterwards.

It turns out that most water available to us today is slightly acidic, as the pH is less than 7.0. For example, Perrier has a pH of 4.91, Fiji is 6.65. And all the water that is available today, whether it be tap of bottled, has a high ORP (an oxidation reduction potential of about +300, which tells us they are all deficient in electrons (energy).

Miracle Water

I am thrilled to report recent breakthroughs in biological chemistry that reveal the secrets of the natural “fountain of youth” waters at longevity villages throughout the world known for their healing properties.

This water has been replicated and termed Miracle Water, because there are so many reports of health issues of all kinds going into remission from drinking it. The water has been ionized via electrolysis. Most of the hospitals in Japan and Korea have installed these water ionizers, and they are getting miracle results with most diseases. Watching the video documentaries is very inspiring to see.

Miracle Water is very alkaline (with a pH of about 9.5), has a low molecular weight (super cleansing), a low ORP of about -200 to -400 (full of electron energy and antioxidants), and is super saturated with stable oxygen. Now anyone can afford this water in their own home! To learn more about Miracle Water, click here.

The Physical Element (Being Grounded)

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience. We came down here to embody our inner light. The problem is, many of us bought into the popular myth that we are only physical. Compare a dead body to a live one, and it becomes obvious that we are not. As we become over-identified with our physical identity, we become a slave to our appetites and the habits of the tribe we were born into.

Long ago before humanity’s ability to light a fire, but only a speck of time compared to our total evolution, we ate raw food like the rest of the animals. Once we started cooking food it became easier and more delicious to eat, but the food lost the vital part of its nutrient value. The enzymes, which make food easier to digest, are burned up when they are heated. Essentially the food becomes lifeless. Then we started “refining” the food, as though we had a better way for it to be rather than in its natural state. So now it is not only lifeless but much more dense. The body did not evolve for millions of years to eat what most of us eat today. It is no wonder that so many of us have gastrointestinal issues. Refined-cooked food simply does not digest completely—causing fermentation and putrification (rot) in the intestinal tract. It is no wonder that cancer of the colon is a number one killer today. This old stuff builds on the intestinal walls year after year. In some places toxic pockets balloon the colon out of shape where diverticuli may form. This is a ripe environment for cancer. Remember that pathogenic diseases can only live in a low oxygen environment. This is what happens in a constipated bowel.

Furthermore, all refined foods, including un-sprouted grains, all diary products and meat create acid in the body. Acidity wrecks havoc on the body and is a major cause of disease, aging, and obesity. Pathogens thrive only in a low oxygen acidic environment.

Here are the solutions I am aware of for this cultural problem:

1. Cleanse the intestinal tract of its accumulated debris. Once your intestines are clean, you will be able to absorb nutrients much better, and thus you will need less food for your energy needs. Virtually everyone in our modern society has a congested intestinal tract. About 19 years ago I discovered an herbal cleansing program that really works. It gets out 20 to 40 feet of old toxic mucoid material in 7 days. To my knowledge, for the last 20 years, no other intestinal cleanse has been able to make this claim, but this particular program that has been ingeniously designed. I have done it about 20 times, and to my surprise it always gets this much out. Yes, I bet even you are loaded with this stuff if you have been eating refined cooked food like bread, milk, cheese, and meat earlier in your life. I used to sell it to hundreds of people, and virtually all of them got the same results. This cleanse is not fun to do, but it is the “ounce of prevention that avoids the pound of cure.” And according to our medical establishment there is no cure for cancer, there is only the knife, radiation, and drugs. I no longer sell this amazing cleanse. I just offer this inexpensive article which refers you to it and shows you which ingredients to buy without having to break the bank. The company tries to convince you to buy more products than you probably need. Click here to learn more about the Miracle Cleanse that continues to change thousands of lives.

2. Eat at least half of your meals raw. When I worked at his Tree of Life Center in Arizona, Dr. Gabriel Cousins, M.D. (author of Conscious Eating) informed me of a study that concluded that when a person eats less cooked food, that person’s white blood cell count goes up slightly. This indicates that the body identifies cooked food as an invading disease! When we eat raw food, the white blood cell count remains the same. I asked Grabriel at what percent does white blood cell count begin to increase in a raw versus cooked meal. He said about 50 percent. If 50 percent of a meal or more is raw, your white blood cell count will not be affected, an indication that there are enough enzymes to digest your food without your body being stressed. Note that fifty percent by weight usually looks like seventy-five percent, because cooked food is denser.

3. Stop eating these Acid Forming Foods. Earlier in this article we explained how important it is to get your body pH balanced. Test your pH for yourself, take action, and feel the difference.

Most Acidifying

Hydrogenated oil and partially hydrogenated oil

Red meat

All fried foods

All products with refined sugar

Coffee

Soft drinks

Carbonated water

Products with artificial ingredients such as preservatives.

All dairy products

White bread

Eggs

Fowel

Salt

Chocolate

Mildly Acidifying

Unsprouted bread

Whole wheat and wheat products

Unsprouted seeds and nuts

Soy

Cabbage

Cranberries

Plums

Prunes

Bananas

Vitamin C, Asorbic acid

Raw salt, or sea salt.

Oils, except olive and canola

4. Starting eating these Alkaline Foods: They are pH balancing and build the body's alkaline mineral reserve. (If you have Candida, stay away from fruits.) Sweet fruits should be eaten in smaller amounts. To much sugar in the body at one time is acidifying.  Note that citrus fruits are acidic, yet not acidifying to the body—as the final chemical reaction is pH balanced—again, if not eaten in large amounts.

pH Balancing:

Most Fruits

Almost all vegetables

Sprouted grains

Olive oil

Canola oil

Very Alkalizing

Apples (one at a time)

Greens

Figs

Dates (only one at a time)

Carrot juice (less than a cup at a time)

Mineral broth: Dr. Bronners or Jensen’s

Whex (goat milk whey)

Okra

Umeboshi plums

Celery

Alta Sil X (silica)

Some of you may be saying, “You’ve got to be crazy. I can’t make this big of a change.”  Then you may wait until you are very ill, if you are lucky enough to have another chance.

If making this big of a dietary change is too tall an order, then begin with cutting out those on the top of the acidic list and work on the lower acidic list as you get used to eating alkaline foods. If this is still too tall an order, schedule stopping eating a certain acidic food each month, so that by the end of the year your diet has completely changed. Be sure to balance out your acidic eating with very alkalizing foods, and deep breathing.

Before a brilliant person begins something great they must look foolish to the crowd.

I Ching

One of the biggest obstacles to making a big lifestyle change is our need to conform to the traditional habits of our culture. We don’t want to be an outcast for having “strange” habits, even if these new habits are much healthier. I invite you to make a choice about this. Are you going to continue being another one of the sheep going off a cliff? (This is the acidic lifestyle that most everyone else is doing.) Or are you ready to be a lion, roaring your own truth and walking your own path? By giving up your need for approval, you just may find your own leadership surface. The sheep need a new role model. Could that person be you?

Are You Overweight?
